Mahi And Site

 This week i have done a lot of different things I have been on my one day of site, and i have done a day working in bee keeping. On the day on site we were doing the hard yards but it was boring because all we did was move wood from one place to another, that wasn't the funnest day ive had but we got through the day and finished the day.

Working in beekeeping is different because it was fun we went everywhere we first went out the back of Ngapipitoa to do a hive site, then went all the way to Pipiwai, and the all the way back to Kawakawa to go to Ruapekapeka rd, Then ended the day going out Karetu. All we were doing was feeding the hive because they need the boost to make more honey and not eat the honey they have made which we need. 

I have also been at school getting ready to build a van shed for the new vans we have started by marking everything out and making everything level and ready. We have had to fill in the pad with gravel so we can have the right heights we need now all we have to do is compact the gravel and do the boxing ready for concrete. This week is going well and cant wait to be counting down this week as well.

Cleaning up down the bottom

    This week we have just started back with school after the school holidays our first day back we were taking apart the containers because we are scrapping the idea of using them as van shed. we had to brake down the sheds and placed them all in the shipping container that we cleaned out at the end of the term. We have had a good start to the term and we have a long term ahead of us. We have a jam packed term and can't wait to finish what we need to do.

This Weeks Working

This week on working i have not been felling well this week with the flu and have had to take Monday Tuesday off school and have had the first XV game on the Wednesday up at whangarei boys high it was not a pleasureful game the score was 65 - 0 and that was not a good outcome. And today the Thursday i had come away from the game with another pakaru knee and it is not felling good so this week has not been the best week and cant wait for the holidays to start.

This Weeks Site Experience

 This week on site i did not catch a ride with Wha out because they wanted us to be down at the pick up spot at 6.00 in the morning and i was not going to go down there at that time. So i came to school and and we were going to get dropped off at the site. When we arrived we were straight into work but we had one problem we were at the club house and it meant we needed a hard hat and there were not enough for all of use. So we went over the the retirement homes and helped build the house i was on nailing the weather paper to the house with the nails. I was doing that for the whole day. When we don't get picked up from Wha out they don't buy you lunch and we didn't so we didn't think that they were gonna buy us lunch but they did which I thought was very nice. After smoko we got back to work and finished off the job we got pickup from the school van and headed back to school. It was a slow day but I enjoyed it.

This Weeks Work

 On Monday this week i was on site at the retirement homes and i was putting in the new windows and doors for one of the houses. Also had to sweep all the water that was inside the house out because it was creating puddles and a hazard in the worksite. After we put in the windows and doors we went to smoko at the tai place on Keri Keri and i ordered butter chicken it was delicious. When we got back to the work site i was on clean up making sure the site was nice and clean and all the tools were ready for pack up at the end of the day.

Last Weeks Work Site

Last week I worked on one of the houses for the retirement people. I was working on lining up the next building with a chalk line. While doing the marking we found out that the concrete pad and the plans were different. So we had to make use of the marking and found a way to mark out the pad correctly, also had to carry some 4 by 2 in side the house from the other houses and even had to do a little clean up to make sure we leave the site better than we arrived.

Bay Of Island Building Academy

Kia ora tatau my name's Isaac Ngawati I've attended (BAC) Building Academy for two years at Bay Of Island College and have enjoyed it. 

Through out the 2 year I've passed NCEA level 2 and have started level 3 with a great start.

We have built many project and have still got many more to finish. We have already built a P.E shed for all the P.E equipment, a concrete foot path, set up the school marque, and built a deck for the ESM shed and now creating a retaining wall. I have learnt more skills not just building but concreting, landscaping, painting and roofing. It has been good to learn about how tools work and how to use them properly. Also what tools are used for certain jobs.

We have done a lot but not finished and can't wait for the rest of the year.
